BACKGROUND
Alba Spa harnesses underground aquifers to provide mineral-rich warm water for its leisure pools, which require precise temperature control across a spectrum of pool temperatures. To maintain sustainability, the system must also reheat the underground water to its original temperature before reintroducing it into the aquifer. This ensures the continuity and long-term viability of the aquifer while enabling a seamless, efficient cooling and heating process.
DESCRIPTION
Flexigen provided turnkey design, supply and implementation of a geothermal heat pump and thermal storage system to control the temperature of the leisure pools at Alba Thermal Springs. The system is engineered to minimise waste, recover energy efficiently and comply with geothermal regulations, balancing heating and cooling demand across the site to optimise energy use.
